Live Like the Young

Remember how we use to play play like there was no one looking our imaginations engaged, our dreams set free remember how we use to laugh laugh like we discovered gold we didn’t care if we disturbed anyone the game was on to see who could laugh the longest the loudest magic shows, secret hideouts,... Alone in New York City

I work alone (mostly) and travel frequently.  Sometimes after a long trip when I have been working, I bring home with me more longing for connection and love than ever before.  Funny, you can feel more alone in a large, populated place like NYC than a small town.  Everywhere you look there are opportunities for... What are you waiting for?

One small shift - reading more, gossiping less, taking up dancing - can start a revolution and lead to a new profession, relationship, or mind-set. What are you waiting for?

Make an effort for Friendship

Friendship is so important! Call a friend with whom you’ve been meaning to get back in touch. A rich, lifelong relationship could be waiting. I have always tried to live by the golden rule. Don't wait on someone else to make the first move, if you are feeling it, do it!  Call that old friend, text... Continue Reading →

Wake Up and Be Awesome!

We have the choice, you know.  To be awesome or to be unhappy, loving or mediocre,  or just plain miserable. I have always said that we simply need to change our gaze in order to change our attitude.  When the sh*t is hitting the fan we can stand in front of it and get blasted... Continue Reading →

Dig Deep to Grow Strong

Image: pinterest.com/sandyhibbard It seems like I am always writing when I travel....lately more than any other time!  It is fun to sit on the plane, unload my Macbook, and take a look at what I had written from the previous trip.  Occasionally I am delightfully surprised to discover something pretty cool I have written, and other... My Return from Paris

Alex and SandyAs I sat on the plane flying home from Paris, I was filled with emotions.  Not just sadness for leaving, happiness for seeing my kids and loved ones, or relief for a comfy bed, but also the continued wonder of life I have experienced from this adventure.

Going to Paris this time was a choice to experience the culture, the food, wine, meet new friends, work, and take photos.  I achieved all of this and more.  From day one, I walked each day exploring sights and sounds and smells of this wonderful city.  From the Boulangerie and it’s fresh pastries waking me up in the mornings with the most amazing smell wafting up through my windows, to the potpourri of perfume

A quick thought to ponder on this beautiful Monday morning! Thank you The Simply Luxurious Life for sharing!

“One final paragraph of advice: do not burn yourselves out. Be as I am – a reluctant enthusiast….a part-time crusader, a half-hearted fanatic. Save the other half of yourselves and your lives for pleasure and adventure. It is not enough to fight for the land; it is even more important to enjoy it. While you can. While it’s still here. So get out there and hunt and fish and mess around with your friends, ramble out yonder and explore the forests, climb the mountains, bag the peaks, run the rivers, breathe deep of that yet sweet and lucid air, sit quietly for a while and contemplate the precious stillness, the lovely, mysterious, and awesome space. Enjoy yourselves, keep your brain in your head and your head firmly attached to the body, the…

Just make a decision to love

I can see you, I can feel you, I can look in your eyes. I can touch you, I can talk to you, I can love you. I am standing out on the Brooklyn Heights Promenade looking across the East River toward the Manhattan skyline, anxiously awaiting the fireworks display for this Fourth of July... Continue Reading →

Be a HAPPY Flower – the Epic ONE

Here is the third writing that I have written as of late inspired by the word 'ONE' .  In my journey of self discovery and awareness, this [word] sticks with me.  I am NO expert, but what I FEEL about it is that there is a mystical and healing power in centering down within our hearts and... A visit with the poets

One more life The hills of Tuscany call my name Like I have lived beneath the branches of ancient cedars They call me to go higher One journey opens up another With scents of musk and lavender I am embraced by cobbled streets and fleas along the Seine Poets writing their mysteries Speaking to my...
